Just another rainy day Monday

Today is one of those rainy days that I like to use to write and post something to the web site. So here I sit in front of the keyboard, fingers poised and at the ready to start striking the keys and sharing my words of wit with you. Here we go, fingers ready, set, type!…… Damn!…….I got nothing!!………OH!..Wait………Wait! I got something. How about a little FYI. Do you know that it's a lack of warm ambient air that causes people to feel cold? I haven't copyrighted that so feel free to share it with your children or with your parents if you are lucky enough to be a young Homo sapien.

Yesterday being Easter Sunday I thought it would be a good day to take a ride and I was right. The weather was perfect and the traffic was really light. I had to go to Shaws in Lancaster NH to pick up a few things, once that was done I had an urge to continue on to Berlin for some reason. So it was off to Berlin then to Gorham for a burger at the Burger King. After my quick lunch I was off again this time heading home but not the same way that I came, I hate driving the same roads twice in one day. The trip home would be back to Berlin then follow the Androscoggin river through Milan into the area known as "Thirteen mile woods" then on to Errol, Dixville Notch, Colebrook and finally home in West Stewartstown.. Following the river is a beautiful ride but because it follows the river it has many curves so you need to take it easy anytime of year, but even more so in the winter when the road seems to be one long frost heave. Because there was no traffic I felt I could putt along at a brisk twenty five miles per hour and really enjoy the scenery. When I'm rubber necking I always pull over and let those that are in a hurry go by. However on the part of this trip where I had to drive slow to enjoy it, thirty miles or so, I only had to pull over twice to let a car go by. I took some pictures along the way and will post a few to the site in a few days. I was surprised to cover as many miles as I did on Easter Sunday without seeing the Easter Bunny. [AKA Peter Cottontail] Rumor has it that he was off somewhere hopping through the forest scooping up the field mice and bopping them on the head. I know most of you out there are saying that's little Bunny Foo Foo, you idiot! But lets get real Easter is only one day a year he must do other gigs and would most likely uses an alias for them. I know he has used the name Bugs, something before, can't remember the last name right now but it will come to me later. If you have the opportunity to make the ride from Berlin to Errol via the Thirteen Miles Woods don't pass it up, it is a magnificent ride.
