My second post from Manchester NH
This is Layz1, your favorite curmudgeon making his second post from the big city of Manchester NH.
I don't have any pictures to post even know I have done a lot of hiking this winter. Most of my hiking has been done in Hooksett and Candia, I spent most of my life living on the town line where these two towns come together. The town line went right through the middle of the house I grew up in. I have taken some pictures when my nephew Mark L. and I made these hikes but I believe they would be of little interest to anyone other then me and maybe my two sons. They are of interest to me because it is the places that I hiked and played as a young child, the same places that I took my boys hiking when they were just children. It wasn't just the place where I grew up, but where they grew up as well. It is also the same area that my nephew Mark and his siblings grew up in. Enough about my unremarkable hikes and a little about what I have been up to in the big city. I have decided that I can walk almost anyplace I want to go in Manchester in about 3 hours. So that is what I have been doing. The furthest I have a need to walk is Wal-Mart to get my meds. On my first walk to Wal-Mart I got to sample my first ever coffee at a Starbucks that is right on the way. Let me say that what they do to the magnificent coffee bean should be a felony and those responsible for it should spend time in a prison somewhere. It must be the flavored coffee that people go in there for, it can't be the regular cafe type coffee they enjoy because that is the worst that I have ever had. There is another place on the way that has a great cup of coffee it is called Panera Bread it is a bread and bagel place that has some pretty good pastry as well. When I first started walking everywhere I wanted to go in the city my pace was about equal to that of a turtle, now that I have been walking for a few month I have reached the pace of a hurrying turtle. By the first of the summer just before I head to Montana I hope to reach the blistering pace of a hurrying turtle with the promise of sex at the end of his journey. While I'm on the subject of Montana I will know on the nineteenth of this month if my doctors think my carotid arteries are clear enough for me to take a extended trip of eighteen months or so there. If I don't come up with some pictures to post or something else to write about the next time I post to the web site it will be from Great Falls Montana. The city of Manchester has not changed all that much since I lived here fifteen years ago, if you don't hit the clubs circuit it is still a pretty boring place. I have posted one picture my nephew took of me while we were out hiking, but it is posted to my blog, you can get there by clicking the link The Great North Woods of NH. Well thats it for me for now, but like someone once said "I shall return! Hopefully with a post from Montana.
