My second camping trip to Choteau {pronounced show-toe} Montana.
I just got back from a three day camping trip to the Teton canyon. on one of the many drives I took into the canyon I saw two Rocky Mountain Big Horn Sheep. They were both rams {males} and good size ones at that. I also saw some pronghorn antelope a big buck mule deer and free range cattle. It would be imposable to put into words how privileged I feel to get to see this magnificent part of our country. The scenery alone makes the move to Great Fall's worthwhile, seeing the wildlife is just an added bonus.
I find myself thinking about the many times I almost canceled this move , due to my age my sometime not so great health, and leaving friends, family and doctors to go to a place where I wouldn't know anyone. But fear not Montana this curmudgeon, the Layz1 is here to stay, I can not think of a better place to live then Great Falls Montana. If I ever had any doubt that this was the place for me it left my mind the day I took my first trip into the Rocky Mountains. That is when I realized for sure, what a lucky curmudgeon the Layz1 is! I recommend that the rest of you stay put where you are, there was only enough room left in Montana for me. Sorry. I'm posting some pictures of the big horn sheep that I took on the camping trip. There is something wrong with that last sentence I just can't put my finger on it. I took pictures of the sheep, I didn't take the sheep camping. I thought I needed to clarify that.
Let me end this by saying to the folks back home in New Hampshire I have seen Antelope, Mule Deer and Big Horn Sheep and you haven't! Naw na na naw naw! Oops! Looks like this curmudgeon still has some inner child left in him. I will try to remain more adult like in the future. As I observed the two rams I could almost here one say to the other take a good look at this human we don't get to see many of them anymore with the price of gas being as high as it is. You may have noticed in one of the pictures a ram is standing behind a half dead tree and appears to have his eyes closed I wounder if he thinks that makes him harder to see. They do have big beautiful eyes that seem to stand out don't you think? I have some video of the Big Horn Sheep I will post as soon as get it ready, bet you can't wait. Now if you will excuse me I have a sudden urge to go find a farm and put lipstick on a pig. I have no idea why a person would want to do that but I can't seem to fight the urge.
